Only 21% of managers rate their line manager/CEO’s as highly effective according to a Feb 2012 CMI national survey across all organisational sectors, with 43% rating them as either ineffective or highly ineffective.
Retail, engineering and local government were perceived to be the worst performing sectors.
High performing organisations across all sectors were found to have higher levels of management effectiveness, spend more on appropriate management and leadership development (MLD) and employ more highly engaged employees. Continue reading
